LUKA ♪ Character Analysis

Luka is deemed as the best Alien Stage performer to have existed, having won seasons 49 and 50. His existence is carefully monitored and his being was modified to perform. Harsh training ever since he was a child to prepare him for the gruesome competition. He was put under heart training, a process that accelerates his heart to make him endure an experience near death. This was to help him be able to regulate his heart beat. He keeps it between 70-90 bpm to help keep his composure,[SOURCE: “INTERVIEW WITH LUKA” https://www.patreon.com/posts/eng-interview-81167001]I am unable to find the drawing but there is official art that shows all of the characters and their special training, Mizi has Dance, Till has Instrument, Hyuna has superiority, and Luka has heart training]Everything about him is controlled, what he eats, what he does, ect. Despite finding all the photoshoots and TV shows boring, he still does it all. All to maintain his princely image. He built a perfect image and soon became a favorite for the aliens, many wishing they had a pet as talented as him. His boredom can be seen in Round 5 [“Ruler Of My Heart”] and the music video of Sweet Dream. In Round 5 while forcefully dancing with Mizi, when he turns from the audience he is seen to have a blank, emotionless expression. In "Sweet Dream”, many aliens surround him as their cameras flash, though he seems uninterested and merely closes his eyes.[TIMESTAMPS

“SWEET DREAM” 0:34—0;42]Him being made by Heperu rather than a natural reproduction could be a reason as to why he has many physical issues, including heart problems, and chronic illness. His purple fingers are a result of such conditions. He is shown to be underweight which is also likely a product of his environment and health. He is shown to be chewing on inedible things most likely to forget his hunger.[TIMESTAMP
“ALL IN” 1:20]With this in mind, it's important to understand how exactly he became the best performer. While the 49th season isn't shown, the 50th season shows how aside from his charms and popularity he was able to win. He is shown to manipulate his opponents. In Round 5, when he went against Mizi, he first tried to attract her attention by forcingly trying to dance with her and turning her to look at him. Though this had no effect, it was when he started being more gentle and resembling Sua when Mizi started paying attention. He used Mizis grief to get a reaction out of her. Which does happen as in the end where she attacks him.In the Final Round [Blink Gone] not only does Luka make Till physically tired, he does the same thing he did in Round 5, giving Till familiar gentle touches on his neck and lips to remind him of his previous round with Ivan. Despite him being able to keep his composure, he is shown to panic when Till sees Mizi and forgets what Luka had done. Either way, Till dies and Luka wins.While many believe his behavior is solely for survival, there is more to his character that makes him complex. Along with survival benefits, he genuinely shows excitement and a sense of smugness when his opponents show they are affected by his tactics. This is shown in “Blink Gone” where Luka is seen giggling at Till due to the fact he panics after Luka touches his neck and lips.[TIMESTAMP
“BLINK GONE” 2:07]Another tactic he may use to win is taking away what may make a performer special. As stated previously, Mizi’s training included dance. To which Luka uses against her in round 5. Another example would be the final round, in which after till begins to play his instrument, Luka pulls out a violin and amazes the audience with his skills and talent.[TIMESTAMP
“BLINK GONE” 1:11—1:18]While this definitely does not make him the most innocent character, he is also not the villain people may think he is. He is a byproduct of his environment and the aliens that surround him. This of course does not excuse his behavior though it does help in explaining it.He struggles with emotions and tends to be quite apathetic, he rarely shows any weak emotion and keeps his composure as his life does quite literally depend on it (Especially in performances) Though this does not mean he is incapable of any sort of emotions, he was simply taught to be against them in a way.“LUKA : Purple roseFlorography : AnxiousLove LUKA's love is uneasy. Even though LUKA has never felt insecure in his life, he instinctively knows that his love is insecure. If you're born and raised in a restrictive environment where every breath you take, every facial expression, every angle of your mouth is controlled, you don't even have a chance to think about 'healthy love'. But love is still love, and it's not like LUKA didn't try.However, we don't know if his efforts are really making the other person happy.
LUKA thought the whole time he was away from HYUNA. About what he should have done, and how on earth he could be more connected to his loved ones than blood. But as smart as LUKA was, he couldn't figure it out without reading tons of books and studying hard.We don't know if anyone will ever know LUKA's heart, but as he learned, we will put the most colorful roses in the most colorful casket.”[SOURCE:

The quote that shows "However, we don't know if his efforts are really making the other person happy.“ Is shown in Hyuna's MV “All In” where she is shown to be pinned to the ground by Luka, her discomfort is shown in her expression and the fact her collar (Which shows her mental and emotional state) turns red.[TIMESTAMP
“ALL IN” 1:58]Hyuna’s discomfort for luka likely did not only develop from this, though due to the fact that her brother, Hyunwoo was likely killed by Luka himself. The reason why is not known, though it is theorized he and Hyunwoo had an argument of some sort that turned violent, despite the fact they used to be friends.[TIMESTAMP
“ALL IN” 2;00—2:11]One final point, in Blink Gone, we see Luka and Hyuna see each other once more. To which Luka is in utter shock and Hyuna is also surprised but also shows some discomfort.[TIMESTAMP
“BLINK GONE” 3:55 — 4:02]This furthermore shows what we partially know from their relationship and allows for more insight on Lukas character along with Hyuna's past. More will be added after Weige is released and we know more of Luka’s backstory along with Hyuna and their relationship.2/14/25 RELEASE OF WEIGEThe beginning of Weige shows the ending of blink gone, LUKA is shocked and HYUNA looks away as she is surrounded by the resistance and she covers her face. LUKA smiles brightly and begins to blush, his breaths becoming loud and deep. This shows his intense deep love for HYUNA, as this shows his loss of composure upon seeing her. The world blurs and despite a gun being pointed to his head, all he sees is HYUNA. He is seen to hesitate as he tries to approach her, likely due to the gun. Though immediately after he smiled and blushed once more. This partially shows the love for HYUNA he has.[TIMESTAMP
“WIEGE” 0:07—0:26]LUKA stands among a sea of corpses, his clones. They are all bloodied and unmoving. He stands there shocked, as a knife is in his hands and he stands there bloodied and covered in an unknown green substance that was inside of where the clones were being kept. Two aliens quickly rush to his side upon seeing this. LUKA murdered his clones, the reason why is not specified though can be assumed to be he feared being replaced, he feared once he made a mistake, Heperu, his guardian, would rush to change him with another one of his many clones.[TIMESTAMP
“WIEGE” 0:27—0:36]Without HYUNA and HYUN WOO, LUKA is seen to be a lonely child. He is seen sitting alone under a tree as the other children around him socialize and play. It is then seen that HYUNA approaches him and begins counting along with him.[TIMESTAMP
“WEIGE” 0:37—0:45]HYUNA and LUKA had been close as children, the perfect match of extrovert and introvert. Both were alien made humans rather than ones that were birthed. They were both made to exceed their peers. Though HYUN WOO was not as “special” as they were. His genes were inferior when compared to HYUNA’S. It is unknown what sparked the fight between LUKA and HYUNWOO, though knowing this and how LUKA perceived his own clones, it can be assumed he likely saw HYUN WOO as no different to them. It is seen that HYUNWOO striked first as his expression is one of shock turned to slight anger and his fist is seen striking LUKA.[TIMESTAMP
“WIEGE” 2:13]Following this fight, reflecting back to All in, HYUNA sees this and is frozen in place, staring at the scene. What happens after this is shown in Wiege, LUKA happily approaches a shaken HYUNA. Though it is transitioned with the present time in which LUKA is also approaching HYUNA.[TIMESTAMPS

“WIEGE” 2:30—2:34]As LUKA approaches, the gun to his head follows. HYUNA looks up and is shocked to see LUKA slowly approaching her. Though upon seeing this she too runs towards him, rather it is not with the same joyful smile he has. As she holds him close, she turns both of their bodies in order to block the bullet from entering him. HYUNA takes the bullet for him. Despite her resentment, HYUNA is someone who wishes to save others, and despite their past LUKA is no exception. Infact, in her own last words, she admits he is her weakness, and for this reason he resented him.[TIMESTAMPS

“WIEGE” 3:20—3:35]As HYUNA tells him to live with love, and no matter what, to forgive himself, again and again, endlessly. LUKA cries, for the first time he is seen in a state of vulnerability, as HYUNA is once again the cause for his lack of composure. His apathetic and aloof demeanor is broken upon holding HYUNA'S limp body.[TIMESTAMP
“WIEGE” 3:38—3:55]Though their interaction ends here, LUKAS love never ends. HYUNA alone was his savior, both as he claimed in ROMH and when she saved him from a bullet. Despite her absence after season 49 of alien stage, he missed and loved her dearly. He sits in his bed staring at a poster of HYUNA, He then leans in and kisses said poster.[TIMESTAMP

“WEIGE” 1:20—1:23]When she cries in front of her brother's grave, he leans in, curled up against her back and smiles. Despite the current scene being HYUNA in distress due to her brother's death caused by him. His good mood is further proven by his collar showing a bright green dot.[TIMESTAMP
“WIEGE” 1:35—1:41]His hatred towards his clones is shown in a drawing made by him, it shows Anakt garden, the tree he sits under. Along with his several clones near a rainbow. One's head floated up above it and crossed out in a red crayon. In this drawing, HYUNA, LUKA, and HYUN WOO are all seen walking happily and holding hands. Though it is he and his clones that remain the only ones without faces, while HYUN WOO has half of his face, that being his missing mouth, and HYUNA has both her eyes and mouth. This can likely be connected to an official drawing in which it shows LUKAS memories and his face is all crossed off while a single line crosses HYUNWOOS. HYUNA’S face remains untouched and the line even shields her.[TIMESTAMP

As a universe in which both are happy and engaged/married is shown. Both are holding a bottle of alcohol, in which rings are seen on their hands. They are smiling and in the very last frame it is seen he is likely to lean in for a kiss.[TIMESTAMP
“WIEGE” 2:04—2:05]Their relationship is not one that can be described with simple paragraphs, LUKA’S feelings for her are strong, likely stronger than what has been shown, and what HYUNA feels for him was only further explained recently. There is more to see and understand. Though so far, it is safe to assume both cared for each other. If it weren't for the segyein and their circumstances their relationship would have flourished. In another universe, they will live by each other's side, and the wings of longing will unfold.
